Chando lives within New York City. Chando studied at Manhattan College prior to becoming an actor. Chando originated the role of Maddie Coleman on the television soap drama As the World Changes. She performed from 2005 until 2007 as well as for a few months starting in the middle of 2009. Alexandra began her career in acting in the TV series House Blend on which she portrayed Jenna Harper.
